The 19th Annual Charlie Bowen Memorial Golf Tournament, which raises funds for Big
Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Georgia Mountains, was held Oct. 27 at Nob North
Golf Course in Varnell.

Lunch was provided by Chick-fil-A on Walnut Avenue in Dalton, hole-in-one contests
were sponsored by Pye Kia and each golfer received a goody bag.

Prizes were awarded to the top three teams in both gross and net division competition for the four-person select shot tournament.

Winning the gross division with a score of 52 was the team of Tony Davis, Bob Ingram,
Thomas Lomax and David Noll Jr., which was sponsored by Carpet Capital Fire Protection. In second with a 53 was Precision Loopers (Steve Crane, C.J. Dodd, Chris Hall
and Melvin Nicholson). In third with a 54 was Maryville Jewelers (J.T. Finley, Chase
Jones, Ben Rickett and Trip Ward).

Winning the net division with a 55 was Chick-fil-A (Dwight Hefner, Rusty Reid,
Chris Tallent and Greg Tallent). In second with a 59 was AIS (Russ Barker, John Neff, David Pennington IV and Brian Peters). In third with a 62 was Marketing Alliance (Bryan Hair, Raj Kapur, Jeff Sills and Trey Thames).

Money raised during the tournament will aid the Buddy Program, the in-school mentoring
program of Big Brothers Big Sisters. The Buddy Program — which offers adult volunteer mentors to children in Dalton Public Schools, Murray County Schools and Whitfield County Schools institutions — served more than 400 matches last year.
